well, considering i've never really been on "dates", i guess i'd have to say junior prom.
it all started when my friends and i didn't have dates, but wanted to go. we decided we'd each ask one of the guys from this group of friends on our same "social level". the logic behind that was that if we all were with guys from the same group of friends, none of us would feel awkward because we'd all be in a big group. my pick was this kid brendan. we had never spoken before. ever. but, i worked up my nerve, and i called him after school and asked him. he said yes. turns out, diana chickened out and didn't ask anyone. soooo there i was with this guy i didn't know AT ALL, and i was the only one who had a date. i drove because he didn't have a car. and he did not say a word the entire time. not one single word. plus he had more than a vague resemblance to my grandmother, which was disturbing, to say the least. he ditched me pretty much right after we arrived at the actual dance.
where is he now? well according to facebook he is still in connecticut, with some office job in finance or something boring and lucrative, like 98% of my graduating class.
do i think he ever thinks of me? i certainly hope not, but if he does i hope it's with a slightly higher opinion that i have of that night. and i hope he remembers how fabulous my dress was.
