stupidity

i have no patience for stupid people... and today, i learned about quite possibly one of the stupidest things i've ever encountered.

my sister-in-law drove drunk, and flipped her car over in the middle of the desert, in the middle of the night, all by herself. and she's fine. couple bruises, totalled car. and now i'm supposed to feel sorry for her, and worry with her about whether or not she'll be charged with a dui. well, sorry, but i don't feel an ounce of sympathy for her. not at all. and i hope she does get charged with a dui, it'll serve her right. how dare she think it's okay to drink and then get in her car? what if it hadn't been a bunch of cacti she hit? what if it had been a family? what if she had killed someone? would she still expect us to feel sorry for her? and she has nobody, absolutely NOBODY, to blame but herself. all alone, in the middle of the desert? no other cars present? but guess who she decides to blame. a rabbit. uh huh. a rabbit apparently ran out in front of her and she swerved to miss it, and the car flipped, she passed out, and woke up some time later (she doesn't know how long) upside down in her smushed car. 40 mph my ass. she drove a little sports car, those things are made to NOT flip over. she had to be going at least 80, probably texting someone as usual, and drunk. so incredibly, unbelievably stupid.
