perfect you by elizabeth scott

genre: teen fiction

recap: a girl deals with her dad going nuts and quitting his job and her best friend going nuts and becoming popular and forgetting she exists. of course there's a boy, the bad boy, waiting in the wings, wants her but she doesn't get it until the end.

review: overall, not bad. not as predictable as i thought it would be (aside from the romance). interesting how her parents actually did split up at the end. i was expecting her dad to come to his senses and get a real job so it was surprising when he didn't. reminds me A LOT of my own life. (dad going nuts, leaving the family, best friends stop speaking to her, etc.) anna turned into such a bitch, and it kind of made me wonder if that's what i did during the transition from middle school to high school. i know that i never laughed at their faces, or even said anything behind their backs, but i wonder if that's how my middle school friends felt when i started hanging out with mary and diana in high school. i hope not.
