fabulous fall challenge: fall traditions

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

this is my first time ever linking up with one of these things, so i hope i do it right...

if you've landed here from the linky party - thanks for coming! sorry there's not a lot to see now. i'm trying to start blogging routinely again, and i'm hoping this fall challenge will give me some inspiration. :) also, i'm obsessed with pinterest and always looking for more people to follow!

okay, so fall traditions. well, we don't really have any yet as a couple/family since we're still learning about things to do in colorado. fall always makes me homesick for connecticut; there is nowhere in the world more beautiful than new england in autumn.

our house was on a busy corner, and my mom used to decorate the yard for every season/holiday. the best fall one was the cartwheeling scarecrow.

next favorite fall thing: the clothes. i'm not really ready for summer to be over, but i am definitely ready to wear my sweaters and boots again.

i mean seriously? that sweater? couldn't you just die? i'm going to attempt to make one, rather than shell out an entire paycheck buying one that's not quite right. thrift store blanket, here i come...

in albuquerque, fall means balloon fiesta time. we never actually went to it, but it was right near where we were and i loved seeing all the balloons in the morning. so cool. someday we'll actually go, when we're there on vacation and don't have to work.

i can't wait until we can be in our own house so i can start decorating for every season. i'm really hoping we'll move by thanksgiving so i can decorate, and so my family can come have thanksgiving at my house.

i have to admit, though, that i don't like halloween. i know, i know. my family thinks i'm crazy too, it's okay. i'm sure i'll like it when i have kids. but i just don't like the scary stuff. it's ugly. if i had to decorate for it, i'd go vintage and pretty. but the bright purple/neon orange/lime green stuff? yuck.

the best part of fall is the food. beef stew, roast chickens, soups, ham and squash. YUM. now i'm hungry. off in search of apple cider...
